How the seams are heat welded

  1. Lay and fix the vinyl sheets
  2. Cut a narrow groove along the seam
  3. Melt the welding rod into the groove with heat
  4. Trim the excess and level the surface

Why the seams are welded

An open seam between two sheets collects water and dirt, which has no place in a hospital. Welding closes the seam completely.

A heat-welding rod

A narrow groove is cut along the seam, a welding rod of the same material is laid in it and melted with heat. The excess is then trimmed and the surface left level.

The excess is trimmed once it cools, so the surface is level.

Yes, so the floor becomes one piece.

Ask
Can water get into the weld?

No, that is the point of it: no water or dirt gets between the sheets.
